One Anothering Bible Study

A helpful exercise would be for a small group to study and reflect upon the “one-anothering” statements in the New Testament. Several small group authors have reinforced this in their books and curricula. For instance a group may want to read and discuss Richard Meyer’s book One-Anothering. The group could look at one of the key one-anothering passages at each meeting for several weeks. After reading the passage, they could ask themselves the question, “How can we develop this skill of one-anothering in our group?” For example, “How can we practice the skill of encouraging one another?” Such a conversation could last for the entire meeting, ending with prayer, asking for God’s help in becoming an encouraging community.
